Proteak's plantations are organically grown on Mexico’s Pacific coast. Following years of careful attention to environmentally and socially responsible forestry practices, Proteak guarantees that plantations are sustainably grown, legally harvested and in compliance with rigorous environmental standards. And:
- Proteak's forests currently cover more that 7,000 acres of reclaimed ranch land along Mexico's Pacific Coast.
- On a daily basis, their plantations capture the CO2 emitted by 15,000 cars.
- They have planted 3,300,000 trees and are still growing.
- They are the closest quality teak sources to the continental USA, significantly reducing the amount of energy and emissions required to bring teak products to your home from the plantations.
- Renewable wood products store carbon, permanently removing it from the atmosphere.
Proteak Renewable Forestry began its commercial operations in 2006 following six successful years of operation as a forestry company along Mexico’s Pacific coast. During those six years, Proteak transformed itself into the major grower of teak in Mexico and one of the largest in the western hemisphere. With over seven thousand acres under cultivation, Proteak is positioned to be the most reliable source of sustainable plantation teak and teak wood products for years to come. The grandest of tropical hardwoods, teak is valued for its durability, sophisticated look and resistance to the elements. Proteak’s densely rich and finely crafted teak wood products provide lasting satisfaction with minimal care.
